adding a bit of Aulani to our home…

13 Mar

Last year, my amazing husband and I saved up some money and jetted off to Aulani.  We loved it, and of course we bought a bunch of souvenirs.  From buying our first Vinyalmation (Menehune Mickey!) to little picture holders or to the pictures we bought for our room.  Along with our memories, it was a priceless trip!

We’ve been attempting to purchase a lamp from the Resort that we inquired about while we were there! Well today, our lamp finally arrived! We were so excited when it finally got here, so now I proudly present our Aulani lamp! (Which fits in perfectly in our Hawaiian living room

with the shade and lit up!

Isn’t it adorable?  My amazing husband set it up.  We do have to buy a three way bulb with the right wattage, but right now it has a temporary bulb in it!

We moved our surf board lamp to our table by our front door, which was its plan, so now we have another option for lighting of our house!

It’s little steps like this as I’m glad we are going slow with our decorating. It makes it affordable as once we pay off our living room set/appliances, we can go pick out furniture for our dining room area!  It also gives us plans to figure out what we want.  Of course, we are also saving up money for windows and other stuff like that, but its all in due course.  At least we are doing our decorating together!

We’re trying to get the lamp too! Did u buy it at the Kalepa store and it just took a long time for it to be shipped to you? Or could you purchase over the phone? They currently said they are sold out.

When we visited Aulani a week after it opened they weren’t sure how we could purchase one besides that we could. we ended up getting it over the phone, but it was about a 6 month ordeal. Once we actually got one ordered, it was at our house within 5 days. Hope that helps!

We just returned from Aulani. Like you, we also wanted to purchase the lamp! We inquired at the front desk – they indicated the factory is having such a hard time keeping up with the demand that they currently are not available. We’ll continue to try!
