adventures in the rain…

20 Apr

Both husband and I like to do a lot around our house.  So we have been mulching outside for the last few weeks.  We ran out of mulch last week, and we have been needing to go get more to hopefully finish the project.  Well it’s been raining here in the wonderful state of Florida lately, so we skipped getting it Sunday night in hopes that it would be better on Monday.

It had been still for awhile, but as soon as we went outside to leave, of course, it was raining!

Well we decided to go anyways, which started out our adventure getting Mulch in the rain! 20 bags later, after us dropping them, making a mess, and just having a pretty amusing time, we were loading it into our car (with the help of a Home Depot employee they sent out to help us.)

As we were driving away, it struck me as how to so many people that would have been a horrible experience, but to us, it was just entertaining.  We helped each other.  We worked as a team.  We turned what could be a semi miserable situation into something fun.  I plan on remembering that for years to come as I never want to become a bitter old married couple.  It may not seem like much, but its the little things that can really make you think.

I just can’t believe how lucky I am.

Love it when an experience becomes a fun adventure, instead of getting rained out! It’s kind of like my grocery trip Saturday – I could’ve been upset and stressed about having two overflowing carts, but I just laughed about how much I had saved instead!
